زيارة رفيعة المستوى لمنظمة الأغذية والزراعة إلى بيروت لتعزيز الشراكات

almontasher : في زيارة ليوم واحد إلى بيروت، التقى نائب المدير العام لمنظمة الفاو ماوريتسيو مارتينا، والممثل الإقليمي للفاو عبد الحكيم الواعر ، ومدير مكتب حالات الطوارئ والقدرة على الصمودفي الفاو في روما راين بولسن، ومسؤول الأمن بيارجورجيو ترينتاليا وممثلة المنظمة في لبنان نورة أورابح حداد  ومنسق الاتصال في مجال القدرة على مواجهة الكوارث  ايتيان كاريم مع شركاء رئيسيين بهدف تعزيز التعاون ودعم المبادرات التحويلية.

وعقد الوفد لقاءات مع دولة رئيس مجلس الوزراء في لبنان، د.نواف سلام ومعالي وزير الزراعة د.نزار هاني، لمناقشة قضايا ذات اهتمام مشترك. وخلال هذه المناقشات، جدّد المسؤولون تأكيد دعم منظمة الأغذية والزراعة للبنان، مؤكدين أنّ التزام المنظمة يتجاوز الاستجابة الطارئة الآنية، بما يضمن أن تسهم المساعدات العاجلة في تمهيد الطريق للتعافي وتعزيز القدرة على الصمود على المدى الطويل. وأكّد كل من مارتينا والواعر وبولسن تضامنهم مع لبنان والتزامهم الكامل بدعم الحكومة والشعب في مواجهة التحديات الملحّة.

كما شكّلت الزيارة فرصة لإجراء نقاشات معمّقة مع سعادة سفيرة الاتحاد الأوروبي في لبنان، ساندرا دو وال هي والقائمة بالأعمال بالنيابة سفارة إيطاليا، سيلفيا توسي، ونائب رئيس البعثة في سفارة سويسرا في لبنان، فنسنت باسكييه، ونائبة رئيس بعثة المملكة المتحدة ماري شوكليدج، بالإضافة إلى الأمينة التنفيذية للإسكوا رولا دشتي والمنسق المقيم للأمم المتحدة ومنسق الشؤون الإنسانية في لبنان عمران ريزا.

وتركزت النقاشات على سبل تعزيز الشراكات وتحديد كيف يمكن للتعاون المتقدم أن يساهم في تحسين تحويل نظم الأغذية الزراعية.

وتُعَدّ الشراكات جوهر رؤية الفاو لبناء نظم غذائية زراعية أكثر كفاءة وشمولية ومرونة واستدامة، من أجل إنتاج أفضل وتغذية أفضل وبيئة أفضل وحياة أفضل، من دون ترك أي أحد خلف الركب. فمن خلال تعزيز الشراكات، تساهم الفاو في تحقيق رؤية مشتركة لتحويل القطاع الزراعي في لبنان، بما يعزز الأمن الغذائي على المدى الطويل، والاستقرار الاقتصادي، والتنمية الريفية.

 

FAO High-Level Visit to Beirut to Strengthen Transformative Partnerships

 

(Beirut, 1^st of September): In a one-day visit to Beirut, FAO Deputy Director-General, Maurizio Martina; FAO Assistant Director-General and Regional Representative for Near East and North Africa, Abdul Hakim Elwaer; Director of FAO’s Office of Emergency and Resilience, Rein Paulsen; Piergiorgio Trentinaglia, Chief  Security, FAO Representative in Lebanon, Nora Ourabah Haddad and Etienne Careme, FAO Lebanon Liaison and Resilience Officer met with key partners to strengthen collaboration and foster transformative initiatives.

The delegation held meetings with the Prime Minister of Lebanon, H.E. Nawaf Salam, and the Minister of Agriculture, H.E. Nizar Hani, to discuss issues of mutual interest. FAO officials reiterated the Organization’s continued support for Lebanon, emphasizing that its engagement extends beyond immediate relief, aiming to ensure that emergency assistance leads to recovery and long-term resilience.

Martina, Elwaer and Paulsen also reaffirmed their solidarity with the people of Lebanon and their full commitment to supporting the Government in tackling urgent challenges.

The visit also provided an opportunity for in-depth exchanges with the Ambassador of the European Union to Lebanon, H.E Sandra De Waele; Chargé d’Affaires a.i., Embassy of Italy, Silvia Tosi; Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Switzerland in Lebanon, Vincent Pasquier;  Deputy Head of Mission; UK Office for Syria, Mary Shockledge the Executive Secretary of United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia, Rola Dashti; andDeputy Special Coordinator, Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator, Imran Riza.

Discussions focused on exploring opportunities for strengthened partnerships and identifying how enhanced collaboration could contribute to better nutrition and agrifood systems transformation.
