معهد الصحة العالمية في الجامعة الأميركية في بيروت يوقع مذكرة تفاهم

مع منظمة إنقاذ الطفل الدولية لدعم تطوير المنظمات المحلية

وقّع معهد الصحة العالمية (GHI) في الجامعة الأميركية في بيروت (AUB)، مذكرة تفاهم مع منظمة إنقاذ الطفل الدولية (Save the Children)  في لبنان لدعم تطوير المنظمات المحلية. أقيم حفل التوقيع في الجامعة الأميركية في بيروت بحضور الدكتور شادي صالح، المدير المؤسس لمعهد الصحة العالمية ومحمد مناع، نائب مدير منظمة إنقاذ الطفل في لبنان، بالإضافة إلى أعضاء من الفريقين.

 تعدّ مذكرة التفاهم هذه مع معهد الصحة العالمية في الجامعة الأميركية في بيروت، والتي تحدد إطارًا تعاونيًا لبناء القدرات بشكل استراتيجي وتعزيز المنظمات المحلية الشريكة لمنظمة إنقاذ الطفل، أول شراكة من نوعها بين المنظمة ومؤسسة أكاديمية في لبنان. 

 أكّد الدكتور شادي صالح، المدير المؤسس لـمعهد الصحة العالمية أنّ “إطار التعاون مع منظمة إنقاذ الطفل يشكّل مسارًا استراتيجيًا يساهم في تحقيق أحد أهداف معهد الصحة العالمية، من خلال توليد المعرفة السياقية، وتقديم تقييمات بناء القدرات لشركائنا“.

 وبدوره شدد نائب مدير منظمة إنقاذ الطفل في لبنان محمد مناع، على أهمية هذا التعاون قائلا، “نتطلع إلى تعاوننا مع معهد الصحة العالمية،” مشيرا الى أن “مذكرة التفاهم هذه ستستثمر في نهاية المطاف في بناء قدرات المنظمات المحلية وتساعدها على قيادة طريق ومستقبل لبنان.”

 كجزء من مذكرة التفاهم، سيعمل الطرفان معًا على دعم شركاء منظمة إنقاذ الطفل لمتابعة تحسين الأداء وبناء القدرات التنظيمية، والتي ستحدث بشكل أساسي من خلال خدمات مبادرة المنظمات غير الحكومية في معهد الصحة العالمية.

 تأتي مذكرة التفاهم هذه بالتوافق مع عمل قسم الخدمات ودعم المجتمع في معهد الصحة العالمية، الذي يهدف إلى تعزيز  جودة حياة المجتمعات في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا، مع التركيز على الأطفال والنساء والسكان المحرومين، من خلال تطوير وتمكين قطاع المنظمات غير الحكومية على الصعيد الإقليمي.

AUB’s Global Health Institute signs a Memorandum of Understanding

with “Save the Children International” to support local organizations

The Global Health Institute (GHI) at the American University of Beirut (AUB), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with “Save the Children International”, to support the organizational development of local (grassroots) organizations. The signing ceremony was held at AUB in the presence of Dr. Shadi Saleh, founding director of GHI and Mohamed Mannaa, Save the Children’s deputy country director in Lebanon, in addition to members of both teams.

The MOU with AUB GHI, which outlines a collaborative framework to strategically build the capacity and strengthen local partner organizations of Save the Children, marks Save the Children’s first partnership with an academic institution in Lebanon.

“The framework of collaboration with Save the Children will initiate a strategic path that fulfills one of GHI’s goals, by generating contextual knowledge, and delivering capacity-building assessments to our partners”, said GHI Founding Director Shadi Saleh.

Deputy Country Director of Save the Children in Lebanon Mohamed Mannaa, stressed on the importance of such collaborations. “We look forward to our collaboration with GHI. This MOU will ultimately invest in the capacity building of local organizations and help them lead the way and the future of Lebanon.”

As part of the MOU, both parties will work together on supporting Save the Children’s partners to pursue performance improvement, capacity building, and organizational development endeavors, which will mainly happen through the service portfolio of GHI’s Non-Governmental Organizations Initiative.

This MOU comes in alignment with the work of GHI’s division on community service, which aims to enhance the wellbeing and quality of life of communities in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, with a focus on children, women, and disadvantaged populations, by developing and empowering the NGO sector regionally.
