المملكة المتحدة تسلّم 60 طناً من قطع الغيار والإطارات إلى الجيش اللبناني

UK delivers 60 Tonnes of Land Rover Spare Parts and Tyres to Lebanese Army

أشرف السفير البريطاني في لبنان هايمش كاول، يوم الأربعاء 27 آذار، على تسليم 60 طناً من قطع بدل للآليات والإطارات لمركبات لاند روفر العسكرية إلى الجيش اللبناني في ثكنة اللواء اللوجستي في كفرشيما. تؤكد هذه المساهمة، البالغة قيمتها مليونين جنيه إسترليني، على التزام المملكة المتحدة دعم الجيش اللبناني في جهوده للحفاظ على الاستقرار والأمن.

 

ستسهّل هذه الحزمة المكونة من 225 محركًا و737 إطارًا جديدًا وقطع غيار لاند روفر خدمة وإصلاح وصيانة أكثر من 440 مركبة عسكرية، مما سيعزز الاستعداد التشغيلي لأفواج الحدود البرية وحركة التنقل والسلامة على الطرق.

 

وقال السفير كاول:

 

“أنا فخور بقدرة المملكة المتحدة على المساهمة في تعزيز صمود الجيش اللبناني واستعداده التشغيلي. يلعب الجيش اللبناني دوراً حاسماً، بقيادة العماد جوزاف عون، في حماية لبنان وشعبه وسط التحديات السائدة، لا سيما مع القتال الدائر عبر الحدود في جنوب لبنان.

 

تعتبر هذه المعدات حيوية لعمليات أفواج الحدود البرية المكلفة بتأمين حدود لبنان ومكافحة التهريب والأنشطة الإرهابية. تؤكد المملكة المتحدة من جديد التزامها بدعم الجيش اللبناني وتعزيز أمن لبنان واستقراره.“

Yesterday on Wednesday 27 March, the British Ambassador to Lebanon Hamish Cowell oversaw the handover of 60 tonnes of spare parts and tyres for Land Rovers at the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) Logistics Base in Kfarshema. This contribution – worth £2 million – underscores the United Kingdom’s commitment to supporting the LAF in their efforts to maintain stability and security.

The package of 225 engines, 737 brand new tyres, and essential Land Rover spare parts will facilitate the servicing, repairs, and maintenance of over 440 military vehicles. This will strengthen operational readiness, mobility and road safety for the Land Border Regiments.

Ambassador Cowell said

“I am proud the UK is able to contribute to the Lebanese Armed Forces’ resilience and operational readiness. The LAF plays a critical role, under the leadership of General Joseph Aoun, in safeguarding Lebanon and its people amid the prevailing challenges, especially with the ongoing cross border fighting in South Lebanon.

The equipment is vital for the operations of the Land Border Regiments tasked with securing Lebanon’s borders and combating smuggling and terrorist activities .

The UK reaffirms its commitment to supporting the LAF and to strengthening Lebanon’s security and stability.”
